How We Work
We use a simple, repeatable approach to working with clients.
1. Explore and Assess.
In the most critical step of our process, we explore your business needs, offer insight, and answer questions as best we can. Sometimes the immediate need is apparent. Sometimes it's not. Sometimes we'll point you toward a colleague or decide to revisit it in a few months.
Either way, this step runs about 30 minutes, and it's where we sort out whether we engage in a project.
2. Define and Agree.
In this step, we come to an agreement on the work to be done. This typically comes in a simple proposal, which can be signed electronically and/or negotiated until we're all satisfied with the terms.
We try to keep this straightforward, and we try to keep it transparent. (Services and rates are listed here.)
We like starting new relationships with basic, objectively defined, milestone-based delivery (e.g., research, drafts, revisions, and finals due on set dates to defined specs). It helps us break up the work, show progress, and keep the invoices lean. As we earn trust, we can then explore different approaches, remove guardrails, and expand work if it makes sense.
3. Deliver and Reevaluate.
At this point, we're dug in and delivering work. We focus on hitting targets and communicating progress. If we hit snags or foresee delays, we alert you immediately.
When we deliver, we review our work together. Then we dig back in to make any adjustments necessary to get the product right and complete.
If you think we did a great job, then we hope we start at steps 1 or 2 again. Or maybe let someone else know how well we did.
